Making the most of water

Innovative substrate-free recirculating hydroponics optimises water usage

Source: New Growing System

Systems for the intensification of efficiency in the use of water are critical to providing a window of hope to the consolidation of fresh food self sufficiency, and there are innovative technologies which tackle the two fronts of water demand. On the one hand, recirculating hydroponics minimize the consumption of water in the culture of the plants; on the other hand, cooling systems which don’t waste water and their efficiency is not dependent on ambient humidity set a landmark on the management of greenhouse environment. The combination of theses systems, jointly to complementing technologies, can drive limited surfaces of production to impressive yielding rates, whilst bringing water demand to the lowest possible, at the time of expanding largely the calendar of production.
