Affordable organic fertiliser production made possible by Phumelela Solutions

Phumelela Solutions provides an affordable alternative waste management solution for municipalities that eliminates air and ground water pollution.

Through biotechnology and vermicomposting, the system produces affordable organic fertilizer products called Zuka Gud Grow for use in agriculture. Combining indigenous knowledge and bioscience, Phumelela solutions use widely available waste material and the fertilizer also incorporates pest repellent characteristics.

Sizwe Mnamatha is the founding director of Phumelela Solutions. Phumelela, meaning succeed in isiXhosa, is the vehicle that he uses to drive his vision of helping others realize success, by unlocking hidden and sometimes unvalued potential within and in material and resources that may be perceived as worthless to create wealth.

Mnamatha will be presenting this innovation at GFIA Africa: 1-2 December, Durban, South Africa. For tickets visit
